Meet the Chiro Healthworks Team

Introducing Ros

My chiropractic journey started in September 2000 when I was employed by a chiropractor on the North side of Canberra. This was also when I had the opportunity to meet and work with Dr. Norwood. Believe it or not at this time I didn’t even know what a chiropractor did, but after endless training and seminars I finally understood how important chiropractic care should be in everyone’s lives.

I myself have been under regular chiropractic care now since 2003 thanks to Dr. Norwood’s persistence. Before I started I was a classic example of ‘treat the symptom, not the cause.’ I suffered endless bouts of chronic sinusitis which then resulted in laryngitis, but as long as I was taking the prescribed medication I ‘believed’ I was getting better. This became a burden as I had to take many days off work. I started on an intensive care program and so began my true chiropractic journey. At this stage I was still working for the other chiropractor but became Dr. Norwood’s patient.

Looking back now I wish I had discovered this 18 years ago because that is how long I had been suffering with this illness that kept repeating itself. I have had such a wonderful experience with chiropractic that I now have both of my children under care.

In March 2008 Dr. Norwood asked me to work with him permanently, even though I had worked with him on previous occasions, third time lucky I finally agreed. I am now an official employee of Chiro Healthworks and what a pleasure it is. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing patients benefit from natural chiropractic care. 8 years later and my passion for helping change peoples lives still carry on.

Dr Andrew Asks some important questions of interest to Canberra residents - Chiropractor Canberra Dr Andrew Asks...

Where do most Canberra residents get their first subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Canberra newborn.
Is a muscle spasm a cause or an effect?
With the knee-jerk use of muscle relaxers, you'd think it was a cause. But it's an effect. Chiropractors know that bones don't move unless muscles move them. And muscles don't contract unless commanded by the nervous system. That's why your nervous system is the focus of our Canberra chiropractic practice.
